GTMA Internal Traffic Flag Privacy

The GTMA Internal Traffic Flag browser extension is designed to help GTMA staff mark their visits to client websites as “internal traffic” so that those visits can be excluded from analytics reports (for example, in Google Analytics).

What this extension does

All processing happens locally in the user’s browser.

Data the extension does not collect

The extension:

Cookies

On domains the user adds via the extension popup, the extension sets a first-party cookie gtma_internal with a simple value (e.g., yes). This cookie is used by the website’s analytics configuration to identify internal GTMA traffic and filter it from client reports. The cookie is visible only to that domain and is not used for any other purpose.

Storage

The extension stores a list of domains selected by the user using Chrome’s storage.sync (or equivalent browser sync storage). This list stays within the browser environment and is not transmitted to GTMA or any external service.

Third-party access

GTMA does not receive or store any data from this extension on its own servers, and no third party has access to any data managed by the extension.
