Carlos Rios

My name is Carlos Rios, and I’m the Web Department Manager at GTMA. I was born and raised in Edinburg, TX and work from there to this day. I first started programming while in 4th grade when a friend of mine introduced me to the world of Gameboy emulation. In my curiosity I began messing around with code and eventually found a passion for it. I’ve been building websites since 2008, but professionally since 2011. I’ve worked for a few different digital marketing companies, and even had a go at freelancing full time for 4 years.

Apart from web design and programming, I am an avid learner. I enjoy reading books on history, religion, philosophy, and economics. I enjoy listening to podcasts and audiobooks on those topics as well. I love working outdoors with my hands and always have at least one project going on around the house. I am also a hobbyist game developer, and have been working on my personal project since 2020, with the hopes of releasing a few games before the end of the decade.

My weekends usually consist of visiting with family and friends, a glass of Scotch, Bourbon, or Irish whiskey, and lots of laughter and fun with my wife Stephanie and my 3 boys Nathan, Noah, and Augustine.
