The Best Ways We’ve Found to Continue Your Marketing Education

At GTMA, one of our core values is to be Ever-Evolving as a company. Keeping in this spirit, we encourage and support the various outlets our employees have found to enhance their creativity and continue their education outside of the workplace through their hobbies and passion projects. Here are some of the ways we have found to continue our marketing education:

Making Time for Creative Fitness

With creativity at the forefront of what we do, it’s no surprise to learn of the different ways some of our team members exercise their creativity beyond the work they do for GTMA. We’ve got a screenwriter on our Digital Marketing Team, Kevin Perry, who says the longer format of writing screenplays during his free time helps him bring his A-game when writing short-form content for social media. (And in case you didn’t know, he was the one who wrote our 2017 Christmas video script!) We’ve also got a high-end artist on our Visual Production team, Pete Kasprzak, whose recent painting sold for $2000+ at a privately-owned art gallery in Los Angeles. For him, painting is a therapeutic way to step away from the screen; he says it offers a fresh perspective when coming back to his graphic design work.

Listening to Marketing Podcasts

For those of us with a bit of a commute to the office, we LOVE listening to podcasts. For short and digestible nuggets of daily wisdom, Marketing School with Neil Patel and Eric Su is a favorite among more than one of our team members. For valuable social media insights, Digital Marketing Associate Niki Payne recommends The Social Media Marketing Podcast with Michael Stelzner, a weekly 45-minute podcast featuring interviews with leading social media experts. And for a fresh perspective of paid traffic, Paid Media Specialist Garret Listo suggests The Art of Paid Traffic with Rick Mulready, which is all about the multitude of ways paid traffic can be used to meet your business and marketing objectives.

Investing In Online Training Courses

As part of our commitment to be Ever-Evolving, GTMA recently launched GTMA U, a new training program for all of our associates to advance their professional marketing skills. One of the first initiatives our company took on last year was getting our whole team certified in Google Analytics through Google Analytics Academy. But there are sooooo many great resources for continuing your marketing education.

For all-things Facebook advertising, Facebook Blueprint is your best bet. But if you’re looking to diversify your continuing education with different schools of thought on marketing, some great online training courses can be found on websites like Lynda.com, Skillshare, and Udemy, where you can learn just about anything you want. And for unrelated topics that can still be applied to the world of marketing, like business and psychology, Coursera is another great platform featuring online courses from top universities.

Never Stop Learning

The world of marketing is constantly evolving, so it’s our job as digital marketing professionals to keep up with new developments as they come along so that we can help our clients stay ahead of their competition. Whether you decide to read marketing books, watch YouTube tutorials, listen to podcasts, or make art, we believe it’s important to find outlets for your creativity and nurture your passions through continuing education.
